Install on Android

There are two ways to get the app on an Android phone. The first is easier and keeps itself up to date, so try that one first.

Install from your browser

Open this website in Chrome on your Android phone and tap Install app when it offers. If you do not see the prompt, tap the three dots in the corner and choose Add to Home screen.

You get the same app on your home screen, it works without a signal, and it updates itself whenever there is a new version. Nothing to download and no warnings to click through.

If you would rather install it as a normal Android app file, you can. It is the same app, but you will need to come back here and download it again each time there is an update.

What you will see when you install it

Android asks a few things before it will install an app that did not come from the Play Store. None of it means anything is wrong. Here is what comes up, in order.

Chrome asks you to confirm the download. Tap Download anyway. Chrome says this about every app file, whoever made it.
Android says your browser is not allowed to install apps. Tap Settings on that message and turn on the switch it shows you. This only allows Chrome, and only until you turn it off again.
Play Protect offers to scan the app. Let it scan, then tap Install. This appears because the app was not delivered by the Play Store, not because anything was found.

Worth knowing. The app file does not update itself. When there is a new version you will need to come back to this page and download it again. Installing from your browser instead avoids that entirely.

Your information stays on your phone

Every medication, note and appointment lives in the storage on your own device. There is no account to make and nothing about your health is sent anywhere. If you turn on backup, what leaves your phone is already scrambled, and the key never leaves the phone, so it cannot be read by anyone, including me.
